Getting to show We Are The Prototypes at Dragon Con was such an amazing experience! We got to be one of the two films that opened the festival with a special Q&A session afterward.
The crowds at Dragon Con are so enthusiastic about films. Every screening was packed, with people turned away at the door, and the audience had such insightful questions for the filmmakers—the kind of audience that just “gets it” and laughs or nods in recognition in all the right places. I even dressed up and cosplayed my character from the film, Ah-Yes! People loved the light up hat.
I ended up watching most of the films at the Dragon Con Film Festival, and still managed to find some time to pop into other panels and events at the Con—including saying a hello to the fine folks at Film Threat during their live podcast panel. Best of all, We Are The Prototypes took home the Spirit of Dragon Con Award! This is the first award for the film and was such an honour!
